Easter Festivities

Easter is a pretty big deal around Italy, go figure. So not only did we have most of the week off, but there were festivities going on every night.

Monday: Quintette ensemble in rather modern looking theater room (it didn't quite feel like we were in Orvieto anymore). But the music was great and fun to watch the flutist be all animated.

Tuesday: The big annual symphony in the Duomo that gets taped and then airs on television on Easter.

Cool seeing the Duomo all lit up inside

Good Friday: Stations of the Cross Procession through the streets of Orvieto

Italians already have little sense of personal boundaries, so Italians with lit candles in uncomfortably close proximity is absolutely terrifying

Ending at the Church of Sant'Andrea

Sunday: Easter Potluck Brunch! so much terrific food, it's not even all pictured here.
